oh man. What a painful, beautiful story. I don't know what to feel. Happy that Daniel and 'Jack' are finally together and are able to begin building a life. Or torn up for the old general who held on to duty before all else only to scarfice what he wanted/loved most. I guess that the old Jack was able to let Daniel go in the end, knowing that in some ways he was happier was the best and only thing he could do. But - dang. You certainly know how to write a true angst ridden story.
