I love the way you mapped out this Jack's life, his choices and the results of those. You just gave us enough to realise that he's happy, even without Daniel in his life.
Daniel, older and wiser and a little bit bitter but not enough to walk away and let a good thing fall by the way side. That so works with current canon as well and left me with a nice feeling deep down inside.
