Wonderful story! I'm glad that your young Jack made something out of that second chance he was given. I love that Daniel's first reaction to the young Jack's revelation is anger. This is totally how I would see Daniel reacting after pining for the old Jack for more than a decade. It's a really nice touch that your Daniel still understands why the old Jack never could work up the guts to reveal himself to Daniel. Daniel may not like it but he gets why Jack would act that way, and consequently tries to move on. You really made me believe that Daniel and Young!Jack will be good together. :)
The epilogue is of course heart-breakingly sad because you show us a Jack who has missed out on his chance at happiness, a Jack I'd frankly have wanted to ignore at this point. And yet you manage to show us that even the old Jack still loves Daniel; all he wants for him is to be happy. It's almost as if, knowing that Daniel is happy in this relationship with his younger self, the old Jack is ... maybe not quite content although I see him moving in the direction of a stoic acceptance of how things have turned out for them. This Jack is as close to or as far away from happy as he'll ever get, which is amazingly heart-breaking but totally in character for me. ::sigh::
