This was lovely and achy all at the same time. That last bit at the end actually brought tears to my eyes, especially as you had Daniel say earlier that he would have waited for Jack if he would have just said something. Oh it hurts so good.
Now of course I want to see one last meeting between old Jack and Daniel, preferably much later, say as Jack is dying so some such stuff, cuz while I believe that Jack would be true to his word and not contact them, I can't see him not wanting one last moment. and Jack is just selfish enough to do it. And now I do have tears in my eyes cuz I can see it ending with Jack finally getting a kiss from Daniel and then dying.
*smacks self* yeah, a tad melodramatic I know, but...
Anyway, lovely story and one that will probably haunt me for the rest of the day.
