Next, we went to Dunblane Cathedral.

Another really imposing building, even more remarkable since it's lasted so well: it lay without a roof on the main part of it for about 300 years before being restored by the Victorians.

Inside, it's absolutely glorious: here's the view from the rear of the Cathedral towards the choir.

Behind the Cathedral runs the Allan Water, which is a cheerful, tumbling little bit of water in places, punctuated with lovely clear, calm stretches. It's in a very steep glen.

And from the path that runs alongside the water, there are lovely views of the Cathedral towering above you

But of course, the trademark branch :-D (I think I should start carrying one of these with me - for the occasions when there isn't a handy tree LOL)

This may be a dumb question but why was the church empty? Was it in-between services?

Lovely pics, as usual!

Probably empty because it was around 3pm on a Thursday *g*. There were only a couple of other visitors there anyway, it was quite easy to get pics without them in shot.
