I don't like London - I don't like the lifestyle, I don't like the busy-ness of it and the way that people will hardly talk to you, I don't like the idea of commuting for *hours* to get to and from your place of work. I don't like the arrogant way London annexes the idea of Britishness to itself and to hell with the other 50-odd million of us. I'm a Scot by inclination and breeding, which is why I hightailed it up here as soon as I could.

But yesterday? I was proud of the city of my birth.
