Well, that's it done :-) I'm now officially list free. It feels a little weird though - lists have been a *huge* part of my online fandom life ever since I discovered the online fandom, so to suddenly be 'listless' -- feels odd.

Ach well, I reckon I'll probably get over it.

Listless! I am almost list-free. I'm on no-mail for just a few, and even though I rarely look at them, I just can't bring myself to take that last step.

Just throw yourself into lj and you wont even feel the loss. Trust me, it worked for me.

WoW! I suspect this is a big deal for you.
I've never been a big fan of, or take part on lists in general so isnt such a big deal for me, i'm on 'no mail' for all my lists, an have been for a year..I prefer LJ by far anyway,its more personal and controlable..and fun *-)

It is quite a big deal, yes, and especially FDAS since I've been there since the start - like I say, lists have been such an integral part of my fandom life, it's bound to be a wrench. Luckily a lot of my friends are on lj so at least I'll be able to keep up that way while I paddle along in my own quiet backwater *g*

I just recenly starting joining a few lists. Up to this point, I'd mostly hung out on LJ and at a few different messageboards. I know sometimes they can get overwhelming, and I've actually gone no mail on a few of them. Haven't gotten to the point of unsubbing yet, but could happen.

::nods:: I've done the mail/no mail thing in the past too. Like you say - overwhelming at times, yes, even though they're entertaining most of the time.

I hang out on one newsnet message board and have been there since 1996, and am active on 2 lists. All are cat related. *G*

I'm on no-mail on a couple of cat medical related lists, but that's it.

I do however hang out on several ice hockey forums... ;o)

You'd be surprised how many of us are going list-free nowadays. I'm on only a couple of low-mail lists now.

I've stayed on a couple of RDA fanlists - but that's all. And strictly for information and file sharing purposes only. That's listmail enough for me right now :-)

Takes a load off though, eh? LJ is so much better anyway - you can pick and chose your friends for one thing ;)

I know how you feel. I got this panic reaction of, "how will I know what's going on?" *g* I do find that my life is much calmer now. I think it suits my inate laziness. ;-)

To which I can only say - it's about time, woman! Less aggravation, less stress . . . less guilt by association. Yep - all for the best. I expect you to still post much early season fic, however. You're not being let totally off the hook my dear. Not by a long shot.

*g* It's a struggle to reconcile my essential noseyness with my mail-free state - but I'm not regretting it, not really :-) I'm finding I like lj more and more - it's a much better way to keep in touch, you're right :-)
