Well, that's it done :-) I'm now officially list free. It feels a little weird though - lists have been a *huge* part of my online fandom life ever since I discovered the online fandom, so to suddenly be 'listless' -- feels odd.

Ach well, I reckon I'll probably get over it.

Listless! I am almost list-free. I'm on no-mail for just a few, and even though I rarely look at them, I just can't bring myself to take that last step.

Maybe soon. *g*

[identity profile] catspaw-sgjd.livejournal.com 2005-12-12 06:58 am (UTC)(link)
::nods:: That last step is the hardest, from listlite to listless. It's difficult to explain the feeling - but I can sympathise with it.

Just throw yourself into lj and you wont even feel the loss. Trust me, it worked for me.

Hugs you tight

::hugs you back::

Thanks hon :-)

WoW! I suspect this is a big deal for you.
I've never been a big fan of, or take part on lists in general so isnt such a big deal for me, i'm on 'no mail' for all my lists, an have been for a year..I prefer LJ by far anyway,its more personal and controlable..and fun *-)

::hugs::

[identity profile] catspaw-sgjd.livejournal.com 2005-12-12 07:05 am (UTC)(link)
It is quite a big deal, yes, and especially FDAS since I've been there since the start - like I say, lists have been such an integral part of my fandom life, it's bound to be a wrench. Luckily a lot of my friends are on lj so at least I'll be able to keep up that way while I paddle along in my own quiet backwater *g*

I just recenly starting joining a few lists. Up to this point, I'd mostly hung out on LJ and at a few different messageboards. I know sometimes they can get overwhelming, and I've actually gone no mail on a few of them. Haven't gotten to the point of unsubbing yet, but could happen.

[identity profile] catspaw-sgjd.livejournal.com 2005-12-12 07:11 am (UTC)(link)
::nods:: I've done the mail/no mail thing in the past too. Like you say - overwhelming at times, yes, even though they're entertaining most of the time.

[identity profile] huffytiger.livejournal.com 2005-12-11 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I hang out on one newsnet message board and have been there since 1996, and am active on 2 lists. All are cat related. *G*

I'm on no-mail on a couple of cat medical related lists, but that's it.

I do however hang out on several ice hockey forums... ;o)

[identity profile] catspaw-sgjd.livejournal.com 2005-12-12 07:12 am (UTC)(link)
Cat and hockey - good lord, I'd never have guessed ;-)

You'd be surprised how many of us are going list-free nowadays. I'm on only a couple of low-mail lists now.

[identity profile] catspaw-sgjd.livejournal.com 2005-12-12 07:13 am (UTC)(link)
I've stayed on a couple of RDA fanlists - but that's all. And strictly for information and file sharing purposes only. That's listmail enough for me right now :-)

[identity profile] stephicozar.livejournal.com 2005-12-11 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Takes a load off though, eh? LJ is so much better anyway - you can pick and chose your friends for one thing ;)

[identity profile] catspaw-sgjd.livejournal.com 2005-12-12 07:14 am (UTC)(link)
Both true :-)

[identity profile] feather-autant.livejournal.com 2005-12-12 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
I know how you feel. I got this panic reaction of, "how will I know what's going on?" *g* I do find that my life is much calmer now. I think it suits my inate laziness. ;-)

[identity profile] catspaw-sgjd.livejournal.com 2005-12-12 07:15 am (UTC)(link)
Exactly! And you know what a nosey cow I am *g*

List free and lovin' it?

[identity profile] carronlaforce.livejournal.com 2005-12-12 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
To which I can only say - it's about time, woman! Less aggravation, less stress . . . less guilt by association. Yep - all for the best. I expect you to still post much early season fic, however. You're not being let totally off the hook my dear. Not by a long shot.

Wuvs you.

::nods:: I think you're right.

::wriggles on hook:: Actually, it's quite a comfortable and appealing hook ::stops wriggling, lies back, puts feet up:: Now peel me a grape LOL

::loves::

[identity profile] carronlaforce.livejournal.com 2005-12-13 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
Yeh, I got yer peeled grape right 'eeah (she says in her best New Jersey accent - which ain't much of one).

::: haughty sniff :::

Don't get cocky . . . unless it's in fic. ;-)

[identity profile] msbeata.livejournal.com 2005-12-12 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Carron!

I haven't seen you around LJland in quite a while!

::hugs you tight::

Re: List free and lovin' it?

[identity profile] carronlaforce.livejournal.com 2005-12-13 02:19 am (UTC)(link)
Oh I'm out there . . . sorta flying under the radar. I pop in now and again when harrassing is needed. hehehe Beware the lj dive bomber!!

[identity profile] msbeata.livejournal.com 2005-12-12 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Will your fic still be archived at FDAS?

I need good J/D fic.

So whatcha writin'? And where can I read it?

::pokes:: (but not in the married way)

[identity profile] catspaw-sgjd.livejournal.com 2005-12-12 08:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Will your fic still be archived at FDAS?

Of course :-) Joy has a temp. archive up at her site until such time as DM gets back to online life.

So whatcha writin'? And where can I read it?

Writing quite a few things actually - writing lots, finishing none yet *g* And the same questions right back atya - whatcha writin'? Where/when can I read it?

::pokes:: (but not in the married way)

ROTFLMAO!!!! Nitwit! Oh MsB darlin', I loves ya yes I do :-)))

::hugs you tight::

Hey there. :) Congrats on your brave decision. I'm on no mail with most of the lists I'm on but I haven't had the courage to take that last step of actually unsubbing, yet.

I look forward to keeping in touch with you via livejournal!

Btw, how's that story from SG 10 going? Are you still working on that or is it finished already? And can we read it once it's done? ;)

::hugs::
S.

[identity profile] feather-autant.livejournal.com 2005-12-14 09:25 am (UTC)(link)
ROFL!! I wasn't gonna say anything about that. . .but I'd be willing to read it to. *gg*

Especially for feather...

[identity profile] catspaw-sgjd.livejournal.com 2005-12-15 06:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Brat! :-P

[identity profile] catspaw-sgjd.livejournal.com 2005-12-15 06:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Congrats on your brave decision

*g* It's a struggle to reconcile my essential noseyness with my mail-free state - but I'm not regretting it, not really :-) I'm finding I like lj more and more - it's a much better way to keep in touch, you're right :-)

how's that story from SG 10 going?

Oh lord, which one was I yakking about there? I don't remember :-( Was it when I was smashed? Oh lord, not *that* story...? ::goes pink::

*That* story is filed in the round file, sorry :-( The idea was funny at the time, but in the cold light of day - well, it loses something in the translation LOL

::hugs you back tight::

[identity profile] msbeata.livejournal.com 2005-12-16 05:29 am (UTC)(link)
Tell me of *that* story.

And which parts of you went pink when you thought of it?

[identity profile] catspaw-sgjd.livejournal.com 2005-12-16 02:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Um - pink parts = my ears *g*. And the inside skinny on the rest of it should be in your inbox now :-)
